Des Turner MP and I were delighted to hear Michael Burnage, of Malines Avenue, Peacehaven, has been awarded an OBE.
Michael, his family and neighbours have worked tirelessly to raise money for the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Sick Children.
They have raised the money with their wonderful annual Christmas lights displays, which have served such a great cause and have also given so much pleasure to local families.
Des and I are so pleased a local community activist has been recognised in this way - for sheer hard work on behalf of the less fortunate.
Well done, Michael, and those associated with your work.
