Perhaps the management at BBC Southern Counties Radio could explain why, when they are relaunching the station to win back lost listeners, they have sacked their most popular and competent presenter, John Radford.

Logic would suggest you sack the most unpopular and incompetent presenters.

John has enormous ability, based on his various life experiences, and can speak with authority on almost anything.

He is professional, intelligent, witty, well mannered and reliable.

He has a great rapport with his producers and other presenters and is respected as an honest and hard-working man, who always tries to see both sides of anybody's views.

On his Sunday programme, he can talk with considerable knowledge to representatives of any faith or religion.

It's hard to understand why someone of his ability is being scrapped - unless it's a case of ageism.
