A teacher charged with using the internet to groom a 14-year-old girl for sex by has admitted indecently assaulting her.
Nigel Gordon Jackson, 48, of Bowden Rise, Seaford, admitted indecently assaulting the girl on January 22 last year.
Jackson denied two further charges of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency between March 2004 and April 2005.
He also denied a charge of internet grooming a person under the age of 17 with intent to commit a sexual offence with her.
The charges relate to an incident alleged to have taken place in the Derry area of Northern Ireland.
Jackson appeared before Londonderry Crown Court yesterday.
The court was told he made his plea on the advice of his legal advisers.
The court heard there was one alleged victim involved in the case.
He pleaded guilty to a single charge of indecent assault on the girl.
He was remanded in continuing custody and is set to appear again on Friday.
The defendant was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
The girl's parents were in court for the brief hearing.
The judge, Corinne Philpott, ruled that the girl's identity and the name of the school she attends should not be made public.
