Councillor Sue Johns is wrong when she says cushioning was provided for books posted out of hours through the Jubilee Library letter box at Christmas.

The only cushioning was provided by previously-posted books.

Her letter is not an adequate response.

Dropping any book three feet then piling more books on top will inevitably cause damage and, while this may be common practice around the country, it does not make it acceptable.

I wouldn't treat my books this way and suspect nor would she.

Somebody from the library should publicly answer my original letter rather than this typically shielded councillor's response.
