Was greengrocer Andrew Burtenshaw really making £500 a day before roadworks began outside his shop (The Argus, January 17)?

Some of us are hard pushed to make that a week. I hadn't realised what a lucrative business selling fruit and veg was.

I suggest he uses some of his takings - I presume he made a killing over Christmas - and take a short holiday in preparation for the extra business which will surely resume once the roadworks are completed.

And while he is away, he will have the chance to thank his lucky stars for being able to make such a large amount of money from selling something so basic.
