A struggling musician is preparing to hit the big time after using an internet phenomenon to create the video for his latest single.

Brighton dance music producer Flavorjenkins, 33, has attracted a storm of publicity since releasing the video of new track, Streets of London, on the internet.

It tells the story of his unsuccessful attempts to secure a record deal from London's biggest music firms by using the ground-breaking web programme Google Earth, which maps the globe, using satellite photographs.

The video follows a van, superimposed on a series of Google Earth images, as it drives around London delivering Flavorjenkins demo tapes to major record labels.

It then moves on to what would happen if he secured a record contract, with the van turning into an Aston Martin and Flavorjenkins jetting off to his private paradise island.

The video has been picked up by newspapers and websites in San Francisco, where Google is based, and in Britain.

Stephen James, manager of Flavorjenkins' independent Brighton record label Emoove, said: "The media in California was fascinated Google Earth had been used to make a music video and we can't believe the response.

"Who knows what this could lead to?

"Perhaps this is the one little bit of luck we need because we have great faith in Flavorjenkins's music and talent."

Flavorjenkins was born in Brighton but grew up in Paris, where he made a name for himself on the dance music scene.

He produces music from his home studio on the Brighton seafront.

Google Earth lets people search for a location to get an aerial view, then zoom in to see 3D images of certain buildings and landscapes in cities worldwide.
