Colin Kazim-Richards has won a free holiday in Italy for his parents after scoring Albion's 5,000th league goal.

But the young stiker is in no mood to celebrate.

Kazim-Richards is more concerned about the Seagulls' Championship future after Crewe came from behind to win Saturday's basement battle 2-1 at the Alexandra Stadium.

Kazim-Richards' early header landed the holiday prize from club sponsors Donatello.

He revealed: "I forgot about it, then I scored and as we were running back Kez (Kerry Mayo) said 'enjoy your flight'.

"I'm not going to go, I'm going to give it to my mum and dad because they have never been on holiday together. I'll just concentrate on football.

"Now Crewe are closer to us, so that's really put a downer on it.

Obviously I'm glad I scored but I'm disappointed for the team because there are just basic things we have got to start working on."

Lee Bell fluked a second-half equaliser for rock-bottom Crewe with a cross which turned into a shot and Stephen Foster's winner cut their deficit to three points with a game in hand.

Albion remain behind Millwall on goal difference and five points adrift of Sheffield Wednesday, as they both lost, and Kazim-Richards insisted: "We can get out of it.

"We've yet to play Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday. We are playing teams we can beat. We've got Plymouth next.

"Obviously Crewe was there to be won but these things happen. They got a lucky equaliser, he never meant it."

Manager Mark McGhee said: "We've got ten games to go, I think there are now four teams in it. One of them will stay up and we've got to play two of them, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, so as far as I'm concerned it's still in our hands."
