Concerning your front page article (Argus, February 20): It is outrageous for Hove residents to be held to ransom over the re-development of the Brighton Centre and adjoining buildings because of a decision on the King Alfred complex.

Brighton and Hove may well be called a city but the two areas are chalk and cheese. We will welcome a superb complex at the King Alfred site but the current plans are very debatable on the design aspect and perhaps a re-think of the whole scheme may be appropriate.

So let Hove have no more of this moral blackmail.
