Last week I travelled to Brighton to stay with family from my home in South Shropshire and en route to my parents, I stopped out-oftown to do a spot of shopping.
When I returned to the car, I strapped my four-month-old daughter in the car, leaving my two-year-old son with the keys as a distraction to stop him making a run for it.
I then strapped the boy in his seat and took the keys from him, throwing them on the front seat of the car, little realising he had locked the car.
When I shut his door and realised I had locked the children in the car, I panicked.
The RAC assured me they would be there within ten minutes so I just had to wait.
A kind lady came over and chatted with me to distract me from my my panic. I would like to thank her for her kindness during what was the longest ten minutes of my life.
We are always in such a hurry these days, it is rare to encounter such a good Samaritan. I didn't get her name so would like to express my gratitude via your letters page.
