Paul McShane is putting off surgery to continue helping Albion in their fight for Championship survival.
The on-loan Manchester United defender revealed he has been playing all season with a hernia.
McShane, suspended for today's trip to Plymouth, had the problem diagnosed by a specialist on Thursday but will wait until the summer to have the damage repaired so he can play a part in the Seagulls' last nine games.
