Wayne Alexander finally makes a first defence of his world light-middleweight title at Manchester's MEN Arena tonight.
Hailsham-based Alexander claimed the vacant WBU crown when he stopped Takaloo at Bethnal Green in September 2004.
Since then he has fought just twice, his last bout being a fifth round stoppage of Christian Bladt in Manchester last June.
Tonight the 32-year-old puts his title on the line against unbeaten Mancunian Thomas McDonagh in the knowledge that victory could finally see him pitted against a top American fighter.
