Dean Gordon has left Lewes but manager Steven King has not ruled out a return in the future.

The former England under-21 leftback, who cost Middlesbrough £900,000 when they signed him from Crystal Palace in 1998, has played two games for the Rooks recently.

A friend of manager King, Gordon was flying down from Middlesbrough to help out Lewes but has now signed for Conference north side Worksop Town.

King said: "The travelling was too much for him but Dean is a great professional and it was wonderful to have him here, if only for a couple of games.

"Depending on what comes up for him in the summer, there is a chance we could have him here for next year."

Lewes entertain Sutton United in Conference south tonight, providing the weather allows the game to go ahead.

Rob Kember, who is in the second month of a loan spell from Crawley Town, will miss the game with a dead leg. Manny Omoyinmi continues to be absent with a calf injury but Leon Legge is back in the squad after missing the last two games with a groin strain.
