The gig circuit loves them, the songs on their website are being downloaded at a rate of knots, and the group's gifted vocalist, Debbie Clare, is about to feature on Massive Atttack's greatest hits album Collected, which is coming out at the end of the month.
The track is called Joy Luck Club and appears on disc two of the collection, alongside tracks featuring Liz Fraser, Damon Albarn, Mos Def and Madonna. Yes, Oom are most definitely on a roll.
The band describe their sound as the mutant offspring of Bjork, The Aphex Twin and Nine Inch Nails. Firmly rooted in dark and dirty ambient beats and soaring vocals, comparisons can also be made to Lamb, Portishead and Goldfrapp.
Oom began when Debbie met demon sampler Ed Chivers at college in Leeds.
After migrating to Brighton, the duo signed up guitarist Alex Hay and have recently invited a fourth member on board - drummer Darren Lindridge.
This performance will see them team up with Bristol-beat devotees The Mekano Set for a double-dose of trip-hop delight.
Starts 8pm, tickets cost £4.50 and £4. Call 01273 728999
