I am shocked and appalled by the state of care in this country.
I was on the 2:06 train from London to Brighton on Tuesday, March 7, when, about halfway through our journey, a middle-aged woman collapsed near the seats my friend and I were in.
We immediately got up to help her - but, to our shock, no one else moved - I don't think some of them even looked up from their papers.
While we were rushing about getting help and making sure this woman was OK (thanks to the train staff who did come to our rescue when we found them), not one person asked if they could help.
In fact, no one even stood up. Are we so self-absorbed now that no one will come to the aid of someone in serious need?
I hope the people on that train think about how much help they might need in such a situation.
I seriously hope nothing ever happens to me in this country because I'm afraid there will be no one around who cares.
