The Sussex Business Awards has three new sponsors.

Train operator Southern, nuts and bolts manufacturer TR Fastenings and law firm Rix and Kay have thrown their weight behind the annual competition.

Business awards director Robin Fegan said: "We are thrilled to announce these exciting changes to the Sussex Business Awards. The new sponsors bring greater exposure within the Sussex community, and the new categories allow a larger number of companies and professionals to enter this prestigious competition."

Southern - which runs trains from London to the south coast and across Sussex - will be sponsoring and judging the inaugural customer service award.

Rix and Kay, which has offices in Uckfield, Seaford and Heathfield, is backing the leisure and tourism award for companies able to demonstrate their "outstanding contributing" to an industry recovering from a string of setbacks in recent years.

Uckfield-based TR Fastenings - otherwise known as Trifast - is sponsoring the Innovation in Business Award which will recognise those companies which have turned "bright ideas" into demonstrable business success.
