In her article on the new Health Trust free bus service, Siobhan Ryan says "a common complaint of patients travelling from Brighton is difficulty using public transport to get to the Princess Royal" (The Argus, March 23).

To set the record straight, patients travelling from Mid Sussex to Brighton (at least the same or greater in number than those travelling north) find the journey by public transport equally as difficult.

Moreover, the Princess Royal offers substantial car parking, whereas those visiting the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) will in reality find none at the hospital or in its locality despite the Trust's claims.

Even waiting spaces to drop off or collect patients at the RSCH site are woefully inadequate and accompanied by posted threats of penalties - not a user-friendly site.

The hardship for Mid Sussex patients in accessing health care in Brighton seems to be ignored or not adequately understood.
