All the recent letters about parking park fees, charges, car parks, pay-anddisplay, permit bays, double yellow lines, single yellow lines, speed cameras, the north/south and now bus lane cameras - will fall on deaf ears.
When the income from the above was £2m per year, I wrote to The Argus stating in similar words that this would increase and become a money-grabbing exercise.
Brighton and Hove City Council's reply was that it hoped to break even.
Recently, on the subject of bus lane cameras, the same reply was given by a council spokeswoman.
The income is anticipated to be £7m by 2007. That's not breaking even. For want of a better word, that's taking the mickhall.
