I've just read the report about how Brighton and Hove City Council is looking to welcome a number of families seeking asylum from Central Africa (The Argus, April 7).
That's really good news, and shows the sort of welcome we can give in Brighton and I support the council on that decision.
Contrast that welcome with the council removal of funding from the St Patrick's charity supporting the homeless because the charity quite rightly refuses to discriminate on the basis of where the homeless have come from. I'm not sure I've seen a more blatant case of double standards in a long time.
