"A unicorn with Aids. Have you ever dreamt of such a thing?"

Let's face it, chances are you haven't and if you have, well, you're probably just a little bit twisted in the head.

Thankfully, such distorted imaginings are not the province of normal people as long as the Mighty Boosh prevails.

The electro dandiness of Vince Noir and frustrated intelligence of Howard Moon took us into a world of diminutive shamen, talking gorillas and Evil Cockney Hitchhikers - and they're just the regular characters.

A world of infinite possibilities which played out like a Wikipedia of the wacky (or a wackypedia if you will), each plot development was smothered with a thick layer of silliness like a fuggy drug-induced brainstorming session in an Amsterdam coffee house. The Boosh revel in their ability to combine stupidity with rock 'n' roll to create a comedy act like you've never seen before.

Mighty founders Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt have crafted a unique sort of rock opera combined with stand-up, dance numbers and the sort of all-encompassing nonsense which would make Edward Lear want to rein it in a bit.

On the back of the cult BBC TV series, they returned to the medium to which they are best suited. While proving a little unused to the Brighton Centre's unusually high stage (Noel could have broken an ankle while running away from a giant rabbit intent on buggery - erm, that's another story), they're at their best when live and dangerous.

Riffing off the Centre crowd - alternatively described as the world's biggest Guess Who? board and mocked for the vastness of the venue, with one wing thought to have been sectioned off with bird flu and the other believed to have been watching a Hall and Oates gig - Barratt and Fielding have certainly moved on from their underground comedy background.

But when you're presented with an image of the moon refusing to pay his dental bills it's clear to see they have lost none of their penchant for the gloriously ridiculous and why they're destined to remain Mighty for a long time to come.
