Ken Fines and Mike James both underestimate the number of people who support the plans for the King Alfred (Letters, April 4).
In a recent poll carried out by Argus Lite, a whopping 89.7 per cent voted in favour of the scheme.
Mr Fines might not like Frank Gehry's plans but he must acknowledge the architect's world-class reputation and the fact many people are inspired by his buildings.
We are lucky Frank Gehry has chosen to design our new sports centre and create homes in our city.
Just as the Eiffel Tower was first opposed, I'm sure many detractors of the King Alfred will in time come to admire this development.
As a local resident, I hope councillors recognise the majority of people in Brighton and Hove want them to approve the plans as soon as possible.
