I can only assume our ministers are out of touch and thick-skinned.

To top up their pension pots at our expense when it is the policies of Gordon Brown that have contributed to the penury of many is brazen. If I were a Labour MP, I would hang my head in shame.

How they can defend this Government I do not know but I suppose they will try, thus adding implausibility to contempt.

To think that for presiding over this shambles Mr Blair is going to get £187,610 beggars belief. Well, I suppose he needs the money.

And as for Gordon Brown? Now his friend, Tony Blair, is up to his eyeballs in it will he help him?

Of course not. He will do the usual Gordon Brown thing and lie low.

To get back into our good books, all politicians need to take a vow of abstinence and put the competence back into government.

And do we think that will happen? I suspect the level of competence in New Labour is not up to the job and the competence resides on the opposition benches.

Do the Tories really have to wait four years before they get another chance? That seems too long for the good of this country.
