I am stunned to hear Brighton and Hove City Council planning officers will be supporting the Brunswick development to resubmit its planning application for Brighton Marina, after it was so resoundingly turned down by the planning committee recently.

How can they possibly think a few insubstantial changes to the development could change councillors opinions of it, when they represent the people of Brighton and Hove?

We have said no - we don't want this development. It seems the process of consultation has completely taken over the purpose of it and planning officers think that, even if a process of public consultation has been carried out, a development should go ahead regardless of the public feedback to that consultation.

We don't want this ugly monstrosity on our seafront for aesthetic, environmental, structural and moral reasons. It is an insult to the people of the city that planning officers are supporting it being resubmitted to the planning committee.

We trust the planning committee will stick to their guns and represent the people of Brighton and Hove.
