I have the feeling Jackie Corbett (Letters, March 22) and fellow antidevelopment protestors in Brighton and Hove are missing the point.
Almost all large-scale applications which fail at the planning committee stage go to appeal and win. This costs the council large sums of money in legal bills and effects the poorest members of our community through cuts in services.
