Now a regular event at Komedia, the Kroon Kat Lounge's reputation as a great night out is deserved.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly, people get dressed up for the occasion and it's the kind of night where cool cats in hep suits and smart girls in mini hats go to strut their stuff...but your mum and dad wouldn't feel out of place.
As the inimitable Nicky Mitchell crooned her way through jazz standards, we ate, drank and made merry. Guest vocalists included the amazing Alison David and newcomer Gala, whose velvety tones, brought forth an instant murmur of appreciation.
Little interludes from rather strange cabaret acts are part and parcel of the Kroon Kat experience and on Friday it was in the form of two voluptuous ladies dancing with beach balls, wearing corsets and not much else.
