Paul McShane has been passed fit for a possible farewell appearance for Albion at Wolves tomorrow.

It will definitely be the young Irish central defender's last game of the season and it could also be his last ever outing for the relegated Seagulls.

The on-loan Manchester United firebrand is returning to Old Trafford for an operation next Tuesday to cure a hernia problem he has been carrying for much of Albion's ill-fated Championship campaign.

McShane came through training yesterday and is available for the trip to Molineux but he will miss the closing fixture at home to Stoke.

Manager Mark McGhee, who is still hoping to keep hold of McShane in League One, confirmed: "He is going to have his operation on Tuesday, so Saturday will be his last game.

"We will speak to him as the summer goes on. Once he clarifies his situation at Manchester United we'll see where we stand."

Dutch goalkeeper Michel Kuipers has returned from his loan spell with Boston United but he will not be involved tomorrow.

Frenchman Flo Chaigneau is back on the bench as cover for Wayne Henderson after recovering from a calf injury.

Albion, relegated by Monday's home defeat against fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, have lost only once in nine visits to Wolves.

McGhee, surprised by the failure of one of his old clubs to make it into the play-offs under Glenn Hoddle, said: "I think it is as good a game as we could get in the circumstances, a fantastic stadium, a great place to go and play. At least that gives us something to enjoy.

"I think it's important we go and try to play football, so we'll set the team up to pass the ball."
