Surely it is not right to imply The Albion FC chose an Area Of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) and refused to consider any other site, as Mrs Helen Mason suggests (Letters, April 14)?
The first application for a new Albion FC stadium was for a sustainable football stadium and business complex at Toad's Hole Valley.
This was subsequently threatened with a public enquiry and turned down by Hove planning committee ten years ago.
Later, Brighton and Hove became a unitary authority which held a referendum on the football stadium site, favouring Falmer to help regenerate eastern Brighton.
However, the finest site for an international rugby, and football, stadium with a coach station was in Brighton Station railway goods yard.
