Having read "Crib lady is quite a card" (The Argus, April 13), I felt compelled to write on behalf of all cribbage players.

I was delighted to read the fortuitous Mrs Rees was dealt three fives and a jack.

However these cards on their own would not have enabled her to amass a total of 29.

What the author of the story failed to impart to the reader was the "community" card must have been a five as well and that it was the same suit as Mrs Rees's jack, thus allowing her to claim "one for his knob" and reach the giddy heights of 29.
