I can only assume SMD Kent was having a senior moment when they went and bought all those discount bus passes (Letters, April 16).

There has, after all, been more than a whiff in the air for a good few months that we golden oldies were going to be able to travel for free come springtime. They can't be so hard up if they can spend that money on bus passes in the first place.

Can they honestly say they have never been out and bought something, only to discover the next week it has been reduced?

Would they, did they, dare go back and ask for a refund? Accept the inevitable - this time you lost out.

It's no big deal.
