I have been a resident of Brighton for more than 60 years and have seen no impressive architectural improvements in all that time.

I am a resident of the marina. I think the present layout, with the entrance to the marina, Asda's store, car parks, a casino, a bowling alley and a sports centre which looks like a factory, must make this the ugliest marina in the whole of Europe.

With regard to the present plans being considered for the marina why is it necessary to steal skyscape and seascape to accommodate more ugly high buildings on a virgin area out to sea when, with some innovative design architecture, these land areas could be improved to accommodate the same amount of people and facilities without extending above the height of the cliffs?

There are shop premises already at the Marina Village which are unoccupied and have been for some time. Many shops seem to cease trading after only a relatively short period.

The areas between the car park and the factory-looking buildings is now filled with ticky-tacky pay-for children's rides. Give it some style.
