I wholehartedly agree that fascism and genocide are not subjects to be taken lightly.

The photo The Argus featured was one of the many taken to launch this year's Adur Festival and to promote the Adur Theatre Company's production of 'Allo 'Allo in June.

It was not intended to be viewed as a recruitment poster for the Wehrmacht.

As the director of the production, and as an ex serviceman who has visited both Dachau and Belsen, I cannot agree that the photo "breathes life into old evils", and think, perhaps, a slightly less hysterical viewpoint should be adopted.

I have been conscious throughout the production of the strong emotions Nazi uniforms and imagery can provoke and can understand the writer's concerns.

The writer asks what effect the publication of such a photo has on the generations who lost loved ones in the Second World War, as well as ex soldiers and survivors.

I shall make a point of asking the many disabled ex servicemen and RAF veterans who will be attending our charity show if they thought the uniforms tasteless or offensive and happily report my findings.
