I do agree with A Wilson's reasons for being so irate about seagulls being driven off the beach by megahorns (Letters, April 6).
The shoreline and cliffs are the natural habitat for all seabirds. When I was a boy, I expected to see seagulls on the beach waiting for the shoals of fish to rise. Very rarely were they seen inland.
Now they have to scavenge from dustbins and also have to peck for worms from the local parks.
What a comedown for these once self-sufficient proud birds, now classed as vermin.
