The dream is over for The Apprentice star Ansell Henry.

Ansell, 34, from Brighton, has been on the BBC Two reality show for ten weeks and made it to the final four but was kicked out during last night's episode.

He was competing for a job with Sir Alan Sugar's Amstrad company, which would have commanded a six-figure salary.

Instead he was fired when Mr Sugar ruled he was too nice to make it in the big world of business.

Mr Sugar told the former Millwall FC footballer: "Just being a nice fellow is not necessarily what I need. Ansell, you're a very, very nice fellow but you're fired."

Speaking to The Argus, Ansell said he was proud of his time on the show.

He said: "The reality is I've been in ten tasks in every type of business situation you can imagine coming up to this point.

"He knows what I'm about and, with the last four, he knows who he wants for the job. I was disappointed because I felt the criticism of being too nice was a bit funny.

"I've worked for some very hard bosses before but my style's different. I'm essentially a positive person.

"I didn't row with everybody or throw my dummy out of the pram. I was able to have discussions with people.

"I enjoyed the calendar task because I pulled the team together. My favourite was the selling to trade task because it was the hardest task we had to face. I was selling on my own and did well."

Ansell left school at 16 to join Millwall Football Club and later stumbled into a sales job, which he excelled at.

He said he was not fazed by working with people who had been to university as he was confident in his abilities.

He said: "The main point of going on was to prove to myself how capable I was going up against some very stiff competition."

With his new-found celebrity status he hopes to mentor inner city children, encouraging them to take up education and steer away from drugs.

He said: "I just moved to the Brighton area two years ago but I'm a big supporter of the area, it's an amazing place.

"I'd certainly like to help people in the community."

Ansell was booted out along with the other male contestant, 26-year-old Paul Tulip.

He is rooting for sales manager Ruth Badger to win but believes telecommunications consultant Michelle Dewberry is still in with a chance of winning.
