Fire-breathing horses, stiltwalking lobsters, escapology, samba music, magic - it's all too much!

This year, The Big Splash is so enormous, it has become a whole weekend.

For two full days, the Brighton Festival gets a double-send off as the Brighton Marina becomes an open-air wonderland of sea-themed spectacles, with more entertainment than you can shake a stick at.

Each day starts out with a procession of samba music from Elm Grove Primary School Samba Band. There's more musical fun to be had with the giant sound sculptures at the marina, and even some oyster opera.

Strolling virtuosos of battery-powered pop The Krape Twins are also on hand, taking requests from an extensive catalogue of jazz, rock 'n' roll, Fifties, Sixties and Seventies tunes, Double award-winners at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Japanese duo Gamarjobat present something they call Shut-up Comedy, a hilarious silent physical comedy act which will have you splitting your sides.

There's plenty for kids to do with a programme of workshops.

One of the founder members of Spitting Image, funnyman Richard Robinson is now a scientist and magician.

Using his magician's presentation skills, he shows children that the weird and wonderful world of science and nature is just like magic.

There's also The Makers, who run arts and crafts workshops making wonderful butterflies, fish and flowers.

Noisy fun for all ages is on hand in another of Big Splash's workshops, where participants can make music with home-made drums and percussion made from odds and ends.

French street theatre act Picto Fact create a weird world operating giant inflatable creatures and machines.

And look out for Paka and his ingenious life-size mechanical horse - his amazing steed is made entirely of scrap metal.

But beware, he has been known to breathe fire!

Breathtaking ballet-bungee comes from stunning aerial act, Higher Motion. Using a new technique, the company employs a combination of classic trapeze and bungee which allows the artists to spring up and down, defying gravity to create an arresting aerial performance.

These fantastical and improbable performers fill every corner of the marina, leading up to a cracking Sunday night firework finale in the company of pyrotechnic extremists The World Famous.

An armada of entertainment awaits, so cast off and set sail for another unforgettable Big Splash.

Starts: 1pm to 6pm, Sun night finale from 6.30pm. Free. Sponsored by Brighton Marina and EDF Energy
