Beautiful - and redundant old St Peter's Church by Preston Manor is now cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust, which has just re-roofed the building.
It was a great thrill for my sister (who was married at the church) and I to receive an invitation to join the Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton there for the launch of Red Hen's new art exhibition inspired by trees and called Yew & Others.
What an experience. Not only is St Peter's of unique historic and architectural interest (how nice to see it once again full of people), but the Red Hen's festival showcase is inspiring and visually stunning, something the Mayor pointed out in his witty speech.
In particular, the paintings by Louise Partridge and applique works by Jonathan Lodge are of an exceptionally high standard and deserve a weekend visit.
Well done, Churches Conservation Trust and Red Hens.
