Musician Abdullah Chhadeh is one of the world's most innovative qunun players.
The qunun is a type of zither, an instrument which has a place in the musical history of every culture, and Abdullah plays adaptations of music from all over the world, including Syria, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Having redesigned this Tenth-Century instrument, he has revitalised the qunun, and has quite a following, having collaborated with artists including Sinead O'Connor and Jocelyn Pook. He performs with East meets West ensemble Nara.
