Chart-topping band Embrace stirred up a patriotic air across Brighton as they filmed the video to their World Cup anthem.

The group descended on the city to create the video to World At Your Feet.

They starred alongside other excited fans who are gearing up for England football glory this summer.

The band, a film crew and extras basked in the sun as they completed the video at locations across the city.

The production team filmed a series of shots of ordinary English people from all walks of life singing along to the tune, which is to be released on June 5.

The crew captured some builders working on the redevelopment of the former railway sidings at Brighton station before heading to the seafront.

A van and a Mini painted red and white was parked up on the seafront in Madeira Drive as the crew spent five hours capturing scenes for the video.

Band members Danny McNamara, his brother Richard, Mike Heaton, Steve Firth and Mickey Dale went about their work largely unnoticed by passers-by.

Lead singer Danny said the band were delighted to be filming the World Cup video in Brighton.

He also let slip they may be playing a gig in the city later this year.

Danny said: "I've been to Brighton loads of times because I've got lots of friends here.

"The filming has been going well. It's great here, it's so nice and sunny.

"I think we're playing down here at the Brighton Dome in the autumn."

The first scene of the video involved blond youngster Evan Johnson, from Isfield and his dad Dan Johnson, 35, an artist. The two were drafted in to walk along the seafront singing along.

Liverpool fan Dan said: "I had to learn a couple of the lines first.

"Evan loved having his face painted but he got a bit bored with having his picture taken."

Tricia Leonard, of Queen's Park, Brighton, who runs face-painting company Fizzogs, was drafted in to paint the pair's faces with the England flags. Tricia, also a member of the Clowd9 art group, said: "You can't pass by an opportunity to do something like this."

The crew visited Blaker Street, St John's Place, Preston Park, and the sports pitches at Waterhall in the city.
