Despite the frequent congestion, Falmer Road, between the Farm Shop and car park, with its outstanding views has always been a great "welcome" to our city.
So I was dismayed during the past week or two to see dozens of plastic bags snagged on fences, in trees and clogged on the roadside verges - where on earth did all this rubbish come from?
Furthermore, it appears the failure to clean this up is making people think it is acceptable to dump old furniture by the roadside and in the lay-bys.
The sheer mindlessness of this astounds me. To whichever council is responsible for this bit of road - clean it up, it looks awful and is giving passing motorists the impression it's okay to fly-tip rubbish or throw litter out of their cars in this lovely area.
