A LAP-DANCER who uses credit cards to fund a lavish lifestyle could be about to go bankrupt for the second time in ten years.

Shopaholic Aimi Robinson is £85,000 in debt but is still spending thousands on clothes, jewellery and beauty treatments she says she cannot live without.

The 31-year-old from Battle went bankrupt aged 21 after running up £20,000 debts but has still not learned to control her spending.

Single mother Miss Robinson said: "I've created a monster. I've got so used to having everything I want that it's impossible to stop."

She is considering applying for bankruptcy to clear her debts so she can make a fresh start. She said if she did not apply, it was likely her creditors would.

Miss Robinson said: "In one sense it would be a relief to go bankrupt, it would take away the pressure of making the minimum payments on my credit cards every month.

"On the other hand, I don't know how I could cope without spending money."

Miss Robinson is a regular on the London party scene and spends to keep up the right image. Yesterday she had her hair styled and bought a £75 chainmail dress intended to upset Peter Stringfellow, who she once worked for, at the launch of his new nightclub last night.

Miss Robinson said: "I want to see how quickly I can get thrown out. I won't be wearing any knickers and the dress doesn't hide much."

She spends about £3,000 a month on clothes and drives a £25,000 convertible Mercedes with a £500 number plate reading S4UCY.

She has 400 pairs of shoes by designers including Jimmy Choo and Gucci and one £300 pink Christian Dior pair she has never worn.

Most of her spending has been paid for on credit cards.

She had £4,900 breast implants three years ago, increasing her bust from 34B to 34DD, and is paying £5,000 this summer to have them enlarged to an F cup.

She has regular saline injections on her lips at a cost of £260 and spends £800 each year on Botox injections for her forehead.

She has four or five holidays each year, always in five-star hotels.

She said going bankrupt at 21 had caused her problems but ultimately led to her spending more. She was banned from having a bank account for five years and could not get any credit.

She said: "I started working as a lap-dancer because I had no money."

She said she danced in Brighton and at Stringfellows in London. She said: "All of a sudden I had loads of money coming in, more than I knew what to do with."

She developed spending habits that steadily grew but were still covered by her earnings. When she was allowed to take credit again, her spending kept on increasing and her debts developed.

She is due at a preliminary bankruptcy hearing on Monday, June 19.

Miss Robinson's spending problem is so bad she has been picked to appear on a TV show, Britain's Biggest Spenders, alongside three shopaholics who do not share her debt problems. Britain's Biggest Spenders is on ITV1 at 9pm on Tuesday.
