I live close to the proposed waste transfer facility at Hollingdean and have children at local infants, playgroups and secondary schools and not everyone in the area sees a problem with the proposed facility.

It is not a "dump" - it's on the site of a former abbattoir - and is already used by the rubbish trucks. It is hardly a site of current beauty.

This is a classic "Not In My Backyard" story. Maybe the protesters would do better if they focused their energies on reducing the amount of rubbish they produced rather than trying to send it off to someone else's backyard.
