We never found out why Mr and Mrs Little decided to adopt a mouse, rather than a human but that hasn't stopped Stuart Little becoming one of the most popular children's tales of modern times.
Based on the book by E B White, it was first adapted for Hollywood and is now a stage show. In it, Stuart is a rather nifty puppet, complete with mouse-sized car, which he uses to help find his missing friend, Margalo the bird.
