In your article about the proposed Phoenix Quarter development in Lewes (The Argus, July 10), you described the Phoenix industrial estate as "semi-derelict".

As I understand it, "semi" means "half". I live on the edge of the estate and it is by no means half derelict, despite recent attempts by fire-raisers.

I imagine many of those who conduct useful and thriving business there would also object.

However, to say it is semi-derelict implies the proposed development, which is opposed by many Lewes residents, represents a genuine improvement.
