Rather than resort to pest control companies, as the Sussex Cricket Club sadly has, people should be aware that foxes can be humanely repelled by using Scoot (for lawns) or Get Off (for soil), which can be bought at garden centres and is non-toxic.
If the fox killed was a vixen, she would have been feeding young underground at this time of year and if it was a dog fox, he would have been gathering food so she could stay with the young.
Our towns and cities are becoming bleak enough. Let’s enjoy the wildlife we have instead of always trying to eradicate it.
