It was such an honour for me to be invited to the pre-marathon party at the Pavillion last night. I was truly blown away by the sheer determination and hard work acheived by the race directors and the whole BM team that have and as far as I know are still working around the clock to make this race possible. Steve Ovett gave a great speech albeit with a strong twang of Aussie accent which quite suited him. Tim Hutchinson gave me a giggle when he gave his speech he mentioned that when he first had the idea of holding the Brighton Marathon he put his thoughts to the local constabulary whose initial response was "are you having a laugh?"

And now we have the Chief Super Graham Bartlett actually taking part. How did they manage that? It doesn't matter it is just amazing that they pulled it off and the proof will be in the pudding tomorrow morning at 9am.

As for me I did my last 2 miles today, oh what a dream. I have my kit hanging up, number safety pinned onto my vest, my trainers are tagged and I am good to go. Sunday 18th of April 2010 yes people, Brighton is going to buzz.
