A summer crackdown on noise is being launched by the county’s councils.
Bongo drums, cockerels and cavorting couples have all been named as noise nuisances by Brighton and Hove City Council.
On average city bosses receive more than six calls a day from people wishing to report unacceptable noise.
In 2009, 2,300 complaints were lodged with the authority.
Now, in the lead up to summer months of open windows, council bosses are signing up to Noise Awareness Day to make people realise that noise nuisance will be treated seriously.

The most frequent offenders were car alarms, barking dogs and loud music.
