On behalf of the Brighton branch of the MS Society, I am writing to inform readers that next week (April 26 to May 3) is national MS Week and this year’s theme is “The right to a full life”.
I can tell you that many of our members in the Brighton and Hove area living with MS do not live a “full life” due to problems such as a lack of financial support or accessing the right medication for their condition.
Our branch attempts to fill the gaps by offering local people with MS financial assistance for home adaptations and disability equipment. But we are a voluntary-run group relying solely on donations from the public – we cannot be expected to match the level of care expected from the government.
We ask that readers of The Argus show their support and join the MS Society’s campaigns network at www.
mssociety.org.uk/campaigns network and find out more about our manifesto with ten calls to the newly-elected government to address inequalities and injustices at www.ms society.org.uk/manifesto.
For anyone affected by MS wishing to access support from the Brighton branch of the MS Society, or for supporters wishing to make a donation, please call 01273 591955 or visit the website, www.mssociety.org.uk/brighton.
