A sex offender has gone on the run just weeks after police revealed they had no idea where ten other perverts were.

Sussex Police are currently monitoring 915 registered sex offenders but admit they do not know the whereabouts of 11 of them.

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show the number of fugitives has risen since February.

They include nine Sussex paedophiles seven of whom are believed to have left the country.

The figures show that some of the missing perverts had been unsupervised for as long as five years.

Police said: “On March 1, Sussex Police had 11 registered sex offenders currently recorded as wanted because their whereabouts are unknown.

“The total is only valid for that date because the information is dynamic and will change as arrests are made or new cases come to light.”

Of the 11 on the run two are considered to be at high risk of re-offending.

Six are considered medium risk and three are seen as low risk offenders.

The dates they are known to have been at large varies from 2005 to 2010.
