A new website has been launched to help the tens of thousands of women who are running their own businesses.

It has been set up by The Women’s Business Clubs, a successful networking organisation founded by Kelly Stevens, from Worthing.

She said: “It is a fact that women work and do business differently from men.

“In general, we are not as competitive as men and prefer to help and support each other.

“That is very much the ethos of The Women’s Business Clubs, which is why our new website should be the first port of call for women who want advice, information or inspiration.”

The website features businesswomen from across the UK, while the members-only area allows users to submit articles, take part in live discussions, post job vacancies and ask for advice.

Reflexologist and massage therapist Victoria Jahkeline Salomon, from Coldean, is the founder of New Ways Of Living, which offers health and nutrition education.

She said: “I needed help on search engine optimisation and was able to get a free download from the site.

“It was fantastic and it helped to attract more people to my website, which meant I won more business.”

Heather Barrie, who runs Harrie’s Food, a mobile specialist coffee business, from her home in Chichester, added: “The most helpful thing for me about the website is connecting with other women who run businesses.”

She was able to help a woman in Kent who wanted to set up her own website but didn’t have a budget or know-how.

Ms Barrie added: “It did not benefit our businesses in terms of generating income but we were both able to discuss ideas to help each other grow.”

More than 20,000 women receive The Women’s Business Clubs weekly newsletter and there are 30 Premier Clubs across the country that meet regularly.

Membership starts from £50.
