A man had his jaw broken when he was beaten up in the street.
The 32-year-old was hit in the face in London Road, Brighton, then beaten repeatedly in the road behind the nearby Aldi supermarket.
Two men were involved in the attacks.
The victim was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for a broken jaw.
The attack happened at about 7.45pm on Monday, April 26, but police waited until today to appeal for witnesses.
A Sussex Police statement said the victim had met a group of people, including the two suspects, earlier that day at The Level and had been drinking with them in the street.
PC Tanya Gravenor said: "The victim spent time with a noticeable group of people, which includes a woman in a wheelchair and a woman with long blonde hair carrying a small dog.
"I am keen to speak to these women and to a number of people who passed by as the assault took place, namely the driver of a convertible car and a group of people carrying pool cues.
"They may have heard or seen something of importance to this case and I'd urge them to contact us immediately."
The first suspect was white, wearing a red pullover and jeans.
The second suspect was white, with short dark-brown hair, blue-green eyes, wearing a brown top and blue trousers, possibly jeans.
