Fire crews were called to a block of flats after boiling water flooded two homes.
The water escaped from a boiler in a first floor flat in Pullman Haul in New England Street, Brighton, at about 6.50pm this evening.
The hot water then flooded two ground floor flats.
A spokeswoman for Preston Circus Fire Station said: βA couple of flats down stairs that were flooded and the hall way and part of the ceiling came down.
βIt was pretty hot.β
