New York’s The Books haven’t been out on the live circuit in three years, so this one-off appearance is much anticipated.

Since their 2002 debut Thought For Food, the duo have established a brand of Americana- influenced electronic folk that blends found material, spoken word and electronic samples into a constantly surprising cut-and-paste mix.

They are joined at this show by indie pop romantic Anna Calvi, who lists names as diverse as Django Reinhardt and Roy Orbison as influences on her brooding, cinematic sound. Her debut album is set for release shortly and expectations are high.
